Leslie Barbara and Malcolm Taub are veteran divorce lawyers with extensive life experience in matrimonial and family law. “We feel that not only do we have extensive expertise in this area of the law, but we also have a level of compassion that helps us to empathize with our clients,” Taub says. Barbara and Taub lead the matrimonial and family law department at Davidoff Malito & Hutcher LLP, which has expanded to seven attorneys since its inception. Now with more than 100 years of collective experience, this team can support significant matrimonial matters involving complex interests. “We’re part of a full-service law firm, so it’s extraordinarily beneficial to the client that we can walk down the hall and leverage the expertise of people who practice in multi-faceted areas of the law such as tax, real estate, or corporate law,” Barbara notes.
The firm has developed a reputation for handling the most sophisticated matters. Indeed, Barbara and Taub have represented a number of high-profile and high-net-worth individuals, including celebrities, professional athletes, restaurateurs, chief executive officers, and their spouses. Still, Taub emphasizes: “We’re attentive and caring with all of our clients, regardless of how high-profile they are.”
Taub, who has been named in New York Super Lawyers, has served as an adjunct professor at various universities and is on the board of trustees for two schools that educate learning disabled children. Barbara, meanwhile, has worked on international custody abduction cases and volunteers for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. “The most important thing that we do is to minimize the impact of divorce on the family and the children,” Barbara explains. “We’re parents first.”
