For over 50 years, Kramer, Dillof, Livingston & Moore has provided dedicated representation to victims of medical malpractice, negligence, wrongful death and personal injury. With a thorough and selective approach to the litigation process, the firm has achieved significant victories for its clients, helping them rebuild their lives after devastating negligence and injuries.
“Beyond a doubt, the most rewarding part of this profession is achieving for our clients the justice that we believe they deserve in terms of monetary damages,” says senior partner Thomas A. Moore. “I find it to be very gratifying that all of the work we do from the inception of a case to its conclusion restores hope and dignity to those most deserving.”
Moore and his wife, senior partner Judith A. Livingston, have won over 114 verdicts in excess of $1 million, and hundreds of settlements in the millions of dollars. This includes Tom Moore’s $40 million verdict for a 53-year-old construction worker who was left brain damaged and partially paralyzed after being struck by a truck traveling 50 miles per hour. In that case, Moore says the defense failed to negotiate appropriately under the circumstances, and therefore ended up in worse shape than if they had settled. “If we feel, as we did in this case, that the offers being made by insurance companies on behalf of the defendants are not adequate to compensate our clients, then we will take the case to trial, ensuring that our clients receive proper justice,” Moore says.
Over his 23 years as the firm’s senior partner, Moore has earned a reputation as one of the most successful trial attorneys in the U.S. He has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers, and is recognized yearly as one of the top 10 lawyers in New York. Moore is also included in The Best Lawyers in America® and was twice honored as The National Law Journal’s Lawyer of the Year. Moore is also a member of a number of prestigious legal organizations, as well as the Inner Circle of Advocates, an elite group of the top 100 trial attorneys in the country.
Judy Livingston is also a member of the Inner Circle of Advocates, being the first woman and youngest person ever invited to join that prestigious group. She was cited by The National Law Journal as one of “40 lawyers who have made their mark in the area of health care law.” Like Moore, she has been selected for inclusion in both Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers, and The National Law Journal cited her as one of “The 50 Most Influential Women Lawyers in America.” In 2011, Judy Livingston was named by Best Lawyers in America® as “New York’s 2011 Medical Malpractice Lawyer of the Year”.
The firm participates in a number of charities, including the Judges and Lawyers Breast Cancer Alert, Fordham Law School, Hofstra Law School, Women Who Care and many others. The firm’s attorneys are also very active in the achievement of fair and just laws for personal injury victims.
