The Sanders Firm

Marc D. Grossman and Stanley J. Sanders.

The attorneys at The Sanders Firm–one of the country’s premier personal injury, mass tort and medical malpractice firms–work tenaciously to secure significant settlements and recoveries for their clients. Since its founding in 1967 by Stanley J. Sanders, the firm has grown to a combined staff of over 50 attorneys, paralegals, secretaries and clerks who serve more than 35,000 clients in New York alone. The firm’s national scope also allows it to represent clients across the country and abroad.

“We have a track record of achieving exceptional results for accident victims and those who have suffered from the improper production and marketing of pharmaceuticals and medical devices,” says Mr. Sanders. “When it comes to our clients, we follow the highest standards of care.”

One of the Firm’s Senior Partners Marc D. Grossman began his career in 1993, focusing primarily on representing large groups of plaintiffs against common defendants. In 1999 he founded a mass-tort litigation law firm which merged with The Sanders Firm in 2001. Since then, the firm has grown exponentially with its attorneys often serving as trial counsel to many of New York’s other personal injury law firms. Grossman attributes this growth to the firm’s comprehensive legal guidance as well as the extensive personal attention offered to each client. “We prepare every case as if it will go to trial,” he says. “Our talented attorneys are relentless in their pursuit of the best results for their clients.”

The tireless advocacy of the firm’s lawyers is demonstrated by the lengthy annual list of multimillion-dollar verdicts they secure for their clients. Last year Grossman recovered over $100 million for his clients. “We offer our clients both experience and a proven track record,” Grossman says. “Our work is evidence of the positive impact we can make on our clients’ lives.”

The firm is at the forefront of pharmaceutical product liability cases and is currently engaged in litigation against the manufacturers of smoking cessation drug Chantix, diabetic gastroparesis treatment Reglan, antibiotic Levaquin, birth control contraceptive Yaz, hair growth medication Propecia, DePuy Hips and Zimmer NexGen Knees.

The Sanders Firm has maintained its reputation as a leader in its field by building a foundation of legal talent with the sharpest skills and the broadest experience. In addition to Stanley Sanders and Marc Grossman, who is on the Board of Directors for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association, the firm’s partners include Senior Trial Attorney Martin Block, who focuses on cases involving construction accidents, product liability, and infant lead poisoning; Joseph Viener, who supervises the medical malpractice department at the firm; Meryl Sanders Viener, who is a managing attorney for the firm’s mass torts litigation group; Senior Trial Attorney David Woycik, who concentrates on matters related to personal injury, construction, and highway design; Phyllis L. Sanders who manages the firm’s personal injury practice; Douglas Sanders, who manages all legal briefing, appellate work, and the Firm’s technology and software development; and recently appointed partners Mark Bernstein, Michael Villeck and Randi Kassan.
