Zaremba Brownell & Brown is a trial and litigation firm that handles cases involving traumatic injuries on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. First envisioned by John Zaremba, Richard Brownell and Brian Brown during their time as attorneys at a large international law firm, the practice provides clients with aggressive and creative representation in the areas of medical malpractice, construction accidents, interstate trucking, traumatic brain injuries and premises liability.
“Regardless of the case, we make sure that we use every resource at our disposal to achieve success for our clients,” Brown says. “We simply will not accept defeat.”
The firm’s ability to craft a highly individualized and effective legal strategy for each client has provided for a tremendous amount of growth. In the past year the firm has expanded to 11 attorneys while doubling its office space in The Trump Building to nearly 10,000 square feet. Even as the firm maintains its position as one of the most successful and talented medical malpractice firms in New York, it continues to expand its practice to now include a team of lawyers, paralegals and investigators focused entirely on representing injured members of construction trade unions.
Zaremba attributes this growth to word of mouth referrals from both clients and other attorneys, and client satisfaction. “We pride ourselves on being responsive,” he says. “Our clients typically come to us at the worst time in their lives, and we understand how important it is to be available to them – our firm would not exist without satisfied clients.”
Attorneys at the firm have found enormous success in handling multimillion-dollar cases and the media attention that typically comes along with these cases. This year the firm has had multiple cases featured in the local and national news media and has achieved a number of sizeable results, including a $4.5 million settlement in an interstate trucking case and a $1 million full value settlement for a construction accident. Recently the firm became involved in the national litigation against the manufacturer of the drug Accutane, which is alleged to have caused irreparable and catastrophic harm to thousands of people. The firm’s diverse practice is rooted in its vast experience on both sides of the courtroom. “Our versatility is one of our greatest assets,” says Brownell. “Being able to handle cases on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants gives our firm tremendous perspective and helps us develop creative and effective solutions to even the most challenging legal problems.”
