Joshua Gropper

For 25 years, attorney Joshua Gropper has earned the reputation as one of the go-to trial lawyers in New York’s most significant cases. In 2017 alone, his accomplishments were considerable:

• A $6,263,500 verdict in a pedestrian knockdown case, representing one of New York’s largest reported motor vehicle accident verdicts in 2017.

• Inclusion in the Super Lawyers New York-Metro Top 100 Attorneys 2017 list, which is pared down from a list of all lawyers in the New York metro area, and includes some of the most well-known and respected lawyers in the country.

Personal Injury as a Calling Before graduating from Boston University School of Law, Gropper’s career had already been shaped by tragedy: his brother was hospitalized for two years and lost all four limbs after a house fire caused third-degree burns over 85 percent of his body. Gropper credits the work of an excellent personal injury attorney for helping his family through the immediate aftermath and allowing his brother an optimum quality of life in the years ahead.

“I experienced firsthand the importance of having expert legal advice at a critical, emotionally charged moment,” says Gropper, who is active with the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors and serves as the founder and program coordinator of Nassau University Medical Center’s SOAR program. “Now, as a lawyer, I am passionate about helping injured parties and their families find justice and accountability in their cases, so that they can concentrate on recovering and rehabilitating, or finding consolation after the loss of a loved one.”

A History of Results Representing clients in federal and state courts and in settlement negotiations, Gropper has won a number of multi- million dollar awards for victims of negligence. As a result, he is often called on by other personal injury attorneys to handle their significant trials, especially in the areas of construction accidents, vehicular accidents, brain injuries, amputations, burns, and other serious injuries. “We don’t shy away from challenging cases or back down from formidable adversaries,” notes Gropper, who has argued before the bench or a jury more than 100 times during his career. “If we ultimately take a case to court, our clients, the opposing attorneys, and the judge know we are confident the case is strong and worth pursuing, and that we have the commitment and resources to achieve justice.”
