Cohen Rabin Stine Schumann LLP, one of New York’s leading family law firms, located at 7 Times Square, was founded by Harriet Newman Cohen, Bonnie E. Rabin, Martha Cohen Stine and Gretchen Beall Schumann. Cohen notes: “We’ve been recognized by Bench and bar as the ‘crème de la crème’ of family law firms, and that has been very gratifying to me, personally and professionally.”

Cohen, Rabin and Stine are all AV Preeminent® lawyers rated by Martindale-Hubbell®, as is Paul C. Kurland, another partner in the firm. All the partners have been named as Super Lawyers. Schumann has also been included in Rising Stars over the years. Cohen was named one of the 2012 and 2013 Top 100 New York Super Lawyers and one of the 2012 and 2013 Top 50 Women New York Super Lawyers. Rabin was recognized as one of the 2012 Top 50 Women New York Super Lawyers.

“We are proud of being lawyers with the highest level of scholarship, skill and commitment to our clients’ causes,” says Rabin. Stine adds: “We handle cutting edge and intellectually challenging cases for a wide range of clients, including high-profile and other individuals. In all of our cases, we make a true difference in our clients’ lives.” The firm handles all aspects of family law, including Hague-Convention cases and multi-state cases, prenuptial agreements. High-conflict custody cases, same-sex family law cases. The firm’s attorneys also serve as leaders of the bar, advise legislators on legal reforms and write and teach on family law issues. “This is a highly demanding area of the law,” says Schumann, “but it’s so rewarding to be able to help people ‘in extremis’ move on to the next chapter of their lives.”
