Daniel N. Arshack

Creativity, Tenacity and Aggressive Criminal Defense Yield Success

For 33 years, Daniel N. Arshack has been getting called by clients with unusual, high-stakes cases that require creative and aggressive representation. He is known as an international leader in criminal justice and legal reform and has been asked to teach lawyers throughout the world. As managing partner of Arshack, Hajek & Lehrman, Arshack specializes in criminal defense, commercial litigation and protection of civil rights in state and federal courts domestically and worldwide. His firm has successfully defended a wide range of criminal and civil cases, from securities fraud and international arms dealing to homicide, malpractice and contract disputes.

Arshack recently convinced the United States Attorney’s Office to dismiss all of the highly publicized fraud charges it brought against a prominent New York Hedge Fund Manager. “By completely understanding how his business operated, we were able to explain to and convince the prosecutor that the only just result was a dismissal of all fraud charges with no fine,” says Arshack. “If we can solve a client’s problem without charges ever being brought, that’s the grand slam our clients seek, and we regularly achieve that,” says Arshack, who has appeared on “The Today Show,” “Nightline” and other national news shows in relation to his cases.

Cases with Cross-Border Implications
A founding member of the International Criminal Bar, Arshack has a roster of prominent clients around the globe which reflects the depth of his international law experience. With offices in New York and London, Arshack and his firm have successfully defended the rights of numerous foreign dignitaries and business executives including the Court’s dismissal of all charges against the Acting Consul General of India in New York and the defense of the first Libyan senior government official who fled from Libya during the Arab Spring. At the United Nations, Arshack created a novel hearing procedure and then used it to completely clear the name of Congo’s largest individual taxpayer who had been falsely identified by the U.N. as a funder of rebel groups.

Arshack, a former president of the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyer explains, “Our depth of experience and willingness to make the effort to fully investigate and understand the factual minutiae of each case consistently yield successful outcomes. We even the playing field by never, never, passing on an opportunity to advocate for our client. Our dedication to our client is complete.”
