In the two years since T&M Protection Resources—a global security and investigations company—established a Sexual Misconduct Consulting & Investigations division, T&M has seen the division become a leading provider of proactive and reactive services.
“I don’t know of another security company in the country that has a division solely dedicated to handling sexual misconduct,” notes Vice President Lisa Friel. Managing Director Laura Kirschstein adds, “One of the reasons we’ve been so successful, besides our enormous experience in this area, is because T&M has extensive in-house resources, including investigators, data forensics experts, and security consultants.”
Given these tools, the division can offer sophisticated consulting and investigative services to a variety of entities. Currently, the division is assisting a major law firm with a comprehensive sexual abuse investigation at a well-known university in New York. In addition to investigating what occurred in the past, Friel and Kirschstein will be reviewing the school’s existing policies, procedures, training for staff, and education for students to ensure that the university is doing everything it can to prevent sexual abuse from occurring in the future.
As leaders of the division, Friel and Kirschstein bring to bear years of experience in handling sexual misconduct. Both are former sex crimes prosecutors at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. Friel served as Chief of the Sex Crimes Unit for more than a decade. Kirschstein previously served as the First Assistant of the N.Y.S. Attorney General’s Organized Crime Task Force and has private sector experience at another investigations firm.
