ABC is planning a mini-series and Columbia Pictures is pursuing an adaptation of the book 102 Minutes, about rescue attempts between the time the first plane hit and the first tower collapsed. Recently, NBC decided against a planned eight-part 9/11 mini-series. . . . In America director Jim Sheridan will return to New York for Emerald City, a film about the world of Irish organized crime in Hell’s Kitchen. . . . Cynthia Nixon
will star in a winter production of David Lindsay-Abaire’s Rabbit Hole, about a husband and wife who drift apart after a tragic accident, at the Manhattan Theatre Club. . . . Brooke Shields returns to Broadway in September as Roxie Hart in Chicago, a role she’s currently performing in London. . . . CMJ Music Marathon has announced acts for its 25th-anniversary festival in New York, including Arcade Fire, Dungen, and eighties-hit-covering French band Nouvelle Vague.
