Rumored lovebirds Lindsay Lohan and Jared Leto have signed on to star in an upcoming indie film about John Lennon’s assassin, Mark David Chapman; production begins in New York in January. . . . Former Daily News editor Russ Hoyle has a deal for his book, Going to War, which investigates White House manipulation of media coverage. It will be published in 2007.
