Taste:
I’ve been listening to hip-hop; that’s just where my head’s at right now. The one thing I’ve never really been into is world music.
What’s new and exciting?
I like the Joanna Newsom record. A U.K. garage crew called Search and Destroy has been putting out really killer stuff—a mix of electro, drum and bass, and hard-core rave. The new Nas record.
Wish list:
There’s a fantasy rumor that Nas will do an album with D.J. Premier producing. I’d also like to see D’Angelo produced by the Neptunes.
Current irritant:
When you go to a show, everyone’s got cameraphones, taking pictures. Now it’s about knowing, not experiencing.
