Who better than flash-bombed celebrities to give us the skinny on shades? After all, if the only place to hide from the paparazzi is behind dark lenses, you might as well look fabulous. Tom Cruise, Uma Thurman, and Elton John often shield their peepers with handcrafted German Lunor eyewear from Robert Marc ($245-$495). The opulent optician is a star favorite for finding exclusive eyewear like FreudenHaus and for his own much-coveted line ($295); just ask house-brand customers Kevin Spacey and Chloe Sevigny, or currently wait-listed Bernadette Peters and Christian Campbell.
Hip-hop diva Lauryn Hill owns several styles of Bottega Veneta's funky-fabulous frames ($150-$180), which have also been seen perched upon the noses of John Galliano and Bijou Phillips. Gucci gal Mariah Carey seems to go nowhere without her shiny black I-am-such-a-star eyewear. The sunglasses are a Hollywood craze as well, with Gwyneth Paltrow and Bruce Willis sporting Gucci's trendy silver aviator model.
