SERENDIPITY 3
225 E. 60th St.
212-838-3531
Tourists who can barely hail a cab correctly know that Serendipity 3 is hailed as the ultimate New York destination to sugar up the kids. Oprah raves about the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate like its a cure for ear infections. But the fact is, the place is just too loud and too crowded, and getting in requires far too long a wait to endure with non-adults. Even if you do grab a coveted table and order the famed dessert, chances are as good as not your child will balk because its too tricked-out (Mom, I like plain hot chocolate!), and the wait staff is often too harried to accommodate picky eaters.
