Italy may have Murano, but New York has its own master of hand-blown glass objets: Michael Anchin. The exquisite vases, bowls, and hanging lamps in his Elizabeth Street shop feel both homemade and sophisticated in their swannish elegance. And in kaleidoscopic groupings, they are breathtaking. Which means you’ll never be content with just one. Anchin works out of a studio in Williamsburg, and is happy to customize shapes, sizes, and colors to satisfy a customer’s whim—"The furnace is always hot,” he says. Prices start at $40 for a bud vase.
