Best Plasterwork

FRANK J. MANGIONE, INC.
21 John St., Saugerties, N.Y.
845-247-9248

When that burst pipe wrecks your detailed ceiling—and someday, believe us, it’ll happen in every old home—call in Henry Mangione, a specialist in exquisite plasterwork. Mangione, who often works with the National Historic Trust, takes a pragmatic approach: If you need a simple rosette for the ceiling, he’s as likely to suggest a reproduction from a catalogue as he is to make one. He’ll also do custom castings, when needed, to match damaged trim. A recent repair of a ten-foot stretch of detailed (but not spectacular) molding ran about $300 per foot.
