In Brief: "Wonderland" and "Loser"

ShareThis

In brief: Wonderland, directed by Michael Winterbottom and written by Laurence Coriat, puts an impressive amount of kitchen-sink realism to work on a rather shopworn multistoried scenario about all the lonely people looking for love in the big city, in this case South London. Gina McKee and Shirley Henderson give the gruel some spice. . . . Loser, writer-director Amy Heckerling's first film since Clueless, is about two sweet college ne'er-do-wells, played by Jason Biggs and Mena Suvari, who discover in the end that they are right for each other. It takes them much too long.
