Not all of the 3.6 million–plus people who have bought iPods in 2004 are New Yorkers—it just seems that way. Eighteen percent, incidentally, copped to downloading illegally (52 percent said they buy their music from iTunes, and 12 percent say they upload from CDs). Forty-two percent said the new U2 iPod was cool, while 46 percent called it a sellout.
