Jay Ramras, the Alaskan restaurateur combing the city for a Jewish bride, had a stressful week. One of his employees embezzled $50,000. To speed things along (and get back home), Jay’s taken his quest online.
A 29-year-old Philadelphia native used the Internet to track Jay all the way to New York. Their first date, he says, went well.
Even better, Jay got an e-mail from a woman who has already fallen “in love with Alaska” and claimed she’d been trying to meet a man “adventurous enough to move there.”
If Net surfing doesn’t work, however, there’s always good old-fashioned networking. “My garment-center friend’s gay uncle’s gay lover insists he has the perfect girl,” Jay says.
