I love skateboards,
but I'm way too chicken to use one. That's why I have
a huge crush on these bags by Manhattan artist Beck Hickey.
Hickey wheeled her love of boarding and her talents in
design together with this new line called Sk8bags. Built
with decks from old skateboards, Sk8bags are handmade,
well-built, and totally originalsince no two decks
are alike, each Sk8bag is unique. And while the bags'
exteriors display proper grit, the insides couldn't be
more luxe: Hickey lines evening bags with satin and uses
ripstop nylon for messenger totes, which include a handy
iPod pocket and adjustable strapsso even if you
never get on a skateboard, at least the skateboard can
get on you.
