I saw a play over the weekend that I wouldn't mind paying to see several more times. The Little Dog Laughed, directed by Scott Ellis (12 Angry Men), is about a closeted famous actor who falls for a hustler. His manager (played to perfection by Julie White) tries to protect him in her own fabulously obnoxious L.A.–entertainment–type way. The two hours flew by, and I was as entertained by the punch lines as I was by the fashion (designed by Chaiken's Jeff Mahshie with gorgeous Gunmetal shoes). Seats start at $52, but book now—this limited run ends on January 29.
$52–$65 at Second Stage Theatre, 307 W. 43rd St., at Eighth Ave.; 212-246-4422; secondstagetheatre.com.
