Who wants to bang out muggy laps around the reservoir jogging trail when you could be coasting around the Park Drive, wind whipping through your hair? If it’s the expense of buying new in-line skates and protective gear that has you reaching for your sneakers, “S&B” just sweetened the deal: From now until June 22, roll into any of the following stores with this page in hand and you’ll get a markdown on both skates and equipment.
Note: you must have the page from the print magazine, not the online version

Blades Board & Skate will discount its Rollerblades (normally $139 to $199), Salomons ($139 to $399), and K2’s ($139 to $349), as well as protective gear, by 10 percent – helmets start at $20, and a three-pack of elbow, knee, and wrist pads usually sells for $30. The store will even throw in a free lesson to get you started. Peck & Goodie – a tiny shop with a vast knowledge of what works best for each customer’s needs – offers the same markdown, and so does City Sports (Rollerblades are $100-$150, Salomons are $170 or $180, and K2’s are from $150 to $250. A three-pack of pads by K2 is normally $30). Downtown shoppers can hit G&S – 10 percent off blades, protective gear (including helmets, which are regularly sold for $25), and skates for the kids ($45 to $150). Panda’s staff will help you find the perfect pair (they’re trained as ski-boot fitters) – and with the enormous selection, you should be able to. The store also rents skates ($15 for two hours, $20 a day), and if you decide to invest in a pair of your own afterward, you can apply the rental fee against your purchase. New York Pipe Dreams will also cut 10 percent off prices on skates and equipment.
