Flash Mob: For the ballroom? Probably not. For the dorm room? Definitely.

Well, it might not fly with the Town & Country set, and the crystals aren’t exactly Lalique. But Urban Outfitters’ two-foot-high gen-yoo-wine plastic chandelier may be the glammiest, tinkliest, sparkliest dorm-room fixture in town. (No, it doesn’t provide any illumination on its own, but a kit to add a hanging light bulb inside is sold separately.) It’s outdoor-friendly, too, meaning that you can hang one on the porch as a sort of ersatz wind chime—and that it’ll be able to survive even the harsh environs of a teenage bedroom. ($40, plus $14 for the bulb kit, at Urban Outfitters; see urbn.com for locations.)
