Profile

Sapphire is less about lounging than it is about moves. Minimal furnishings (a row of rusty-gold banquettes along one wall, a bar on the other) mean more room for where the action is—on the dance floor. The DJs sample disco, R&B and '70s funk for the fly girls and boys who attempt to outdo each other with breakdancing and acrobatics worthy of Ringling Bros. Onlookers clap rhythmically while picking up dance partners, and soon everyone gets caught up in the bump and grind. You can't help but feel like you've just crashed a great party, making it well worth the $5-tops cover.
