Best of New York / Worst of New York

This week, we’re publishing the magazine’s 32nd annual Best of New York issue, highlighting the city’s best new (or undiscovered) goods and services. Playing on the Best of New York theme, this year’s cover features an upside-down Worst of New York bottom half that nods to the political season, and the New Yorker who’s emerged at the heart of it: Donald Trump.

New in this year’s Best of New York feature are absolute bests — along with four worthy runners-up — chosen for five iconic foods: breakfast sandwich, Caesar salad, ice cream, lasagna, and hot dog. After some thorough research, food editors Rob Patronite and Robin Raisfeld found that, in many cases, the upstarts trumped the classics. The feature goes online later this week, but if you’d like to get a head start on trying their selections, pick up an issue in print or subscribe to our app.
