Like so much else about South Williamsburg, its real-estate market recalls North Williamsburg in the early aughts: intermittently gritty, still a bit sleepy, and possibly ripe for an explosion. Prices remain (relatively) forgiving: Buyers pay $75 to $125 less per square foot here than for comparable properties on the north side; for renters, that translates to a 10 to 12 percent difference, with the rule being the closer to Division Avenue, the cheaper the rent.
