The Perfect Score: A Downtown Loft

Scarlett Johansson’s a busy woman, what with The Nanny Diaries to promote, five other projects lined up behind that one, and all that effort spent deflecting Woody Allen’s weird-old-guy questions on the set. But Johansson’s also making time to shop for penthouses in Chelsea and Tribeca, including a recent visit to the development at 79 Laight Street. One broker who’s dealt with her says she’s “delightful,” though it’s not clear if she’s serious about buying soon.

The Alfred, a 38-story condo across from Lincoln Center, is getting another opera singer. Soprano Maria Guleghina, seen most recently in the Met’s Cavalleria Rusticana, has just bought a two-bedroom, two-bath on a high floor at the Upper West Side tower. Listed with Gumley Haft Kleier agents Bruce Cohen and Jamie Mitchell, the corner apartment is priced at $1.425 million. She’ll be joining tenor Salvatore Licitra, who lives just one floor (and one octave) below.
