Teenage boys (and teenager-like men) citywide rejoiced over the summer when word spread that Jessica Alba was getting a place in New York, and not in the usual celebrity neighborhoods at that (West Village, Cobble Hill). Rumor had it that she’d signed a deal on the Lower East Side, at the Switch Building on Norfolk Street. But a source says the starlet may have changed her mind; she has been spotted apartment-hunting elsewhere, most recently in the new condos at 246 West 17th Street in Chelsea. Whether she’s actually moving or not, 246 does seem to be a celebrity-friendly place, offering 24/7 concierge services from Ian Schrager’s nearby Maritime Hotel.
Meanwhile, an uptown source says Christopher and Alexandra Gulden—of Gulden’s Mustard fame—have just sold their gut-renovated three-bedroom, two-bath prewar co-op off Sutton Place on East 57th Street. Picnic time!
