Besides building restaurants, the design firm AvroKO owns a couple. First came Public; now this week the partners unveil Double Crown, with a British-Indo-Asian menu and a separate bar called Madam Geneva (pictured), after the eighteenth-century English name for gin. That spirit, combined with housemade preserves, is the focus of the bar’s unique cocktail list, and tidbits like pickled watermelon rind and curried Cornish pasties make up the “hawker-style” snacks. 4 Bleecker St., at Bowery; 212-254-0350.
