   Weekdays, the commuter ferry lands at the door of this new Yonkers Pier project from Peter X. Kelly, whose Hudson Valley restaurants have long occupied Zagat’s top suburban slots. (You’ll need to take Metro-North home, though.)

   The only view better than the one from this gourmet grocery’s outdoor café is the one from the boat ride getting there. Frequent weekend service.

3. 3. Water Taxi Beach

   2-03 Borden Ave., at 2nd St., Long Island City; 212-742-1969

   The beer is Pabst Blue Ribbon, the burgers come courtesy of Schnäck’s Harry Hawk, and the sand is shipped in from Jersey. Frequent weekend service.
