Thanks to the miracle of physics, breakfast just got better—or at least easier. The Pluck yolk extractor ($13 at Story, 144 Tenth Ave., at 19th St.; 212-242-4853), invented by Mark Fusco for local product-development company Quirky, offers an alternative to expensive sieves and drippy shell-to-shell egg-separating routines. Whether you’re prepping a dense carbonara or a resolution-friendly frittata bianca, just crack an egg into a bowl, hover the Pluck’s clear plastic tip over the yolk, squeeze the silicone bulb, release, and—voilà—the gadget seamlessly sucks up the yolk from the white. Squeeze again and it ejects it fully intact—no runny yolk or bits of shell to spoil that egg-white scramble.
