Though swinging by the wineshop on the way to a house party should be a quick excursion, it's easy to spend forever staring at the shelves of reds and whites, Italians and Australians. Sure, you're happy to swill and refill, but figuring out vintages and varietals can drive a person to, uh, drink. You may be ready to confess your ignorance, but that doesn't mean you can't be clever about it.
