In the era of celebrity stylists and megasalons, Lasio Studios keeps it small and personable: There are only three chairs in the salon, and clients have the same stylist working on them throughout the entire process. While other salons offer Brazilian straightening treatments on their menus, Lasio specializes in them, even going so far as to make its own formulas. These same formulas are in turn bought and used by bigger-name places. But owner and founder Nadine Ramos charges much less for the treatment ($150 to $500), and that includes a complete haircut if needed. And customers swear the straightening at Lasio lasts twice as long as at other salonsand they didn't have to fork over their rent to get it.
