What’s Old Is New

Posted June 15, 2006
Sometimes people get so used to the new, cool thing—particularly in regards to technology—that they forget that old-school solutions often work best. A friend recently asked me to recommend earbuds that wouldn’t keep falling out of her ears when she goes for a jog or takes to the StairMaster. There are plenty of pricy, snug-fit earbuds on the market, but SONY MDR-W25G Sports Headphones—which have a good old-fashioned headband—are made specifically for physical activity. They’re ultra-light, they’re rain- and sweat-resistant (they have a water-wicking feature called Moisture Guard), they sound great, and they’re amazingly affordable for SONY. Personally, I like them much better than earbuds for jogging, because snug-fit earbuds have the tendency to block out too much external noise, which always makes me paranoid that I’m not going to hear the truck that’s about to run me down.
