The best thing about new online retailer Curiosity Shoppe is the Craft Room, a selection of 23 different retro-cool craft kits, like Paint by Numbers (which includes a moody Eiffel Tower scene), Built by Wendy patterns (so you can sew your own Built by Wendy blouses and jackets), and the Know Your Knots Kit (for your favorite grown-up Boy Scout). Actually, all of the Curiosity Shoppe is rather retro-cool, with dozens of groovy home and office knickknacks and other adorably designed stuff (jewelry, coin purses, even men’s ties). It was launched by Lauren Smith and Derek Fagerstrom, two New Yorkers who recently decided to move to San Francisco. We wish we knew them before they left because they, like us, are “obsessed with beautiful things,” according to the Website’s mission statement. But since they’ve decided to make a nifty e-business out of advancing the cause of beauty, we forgive them for leaving. Sort of.
