Here’s an awesomely useful $50 stocking stuffer for anybody who still has a moldering collection of vinyl and/or cassette tapes. The Ion U Record MixMeister connects to any turntable or cassette deck and allows you to convert your old analog music collection to MP3 files. The included software, in both Mac and Windows versions, is totally easy to use and can be set to dump ripped music directly into your computer’s iTunes library via the included USB cable. There are other more elaborate ways to rip old non-digital music—like special USB-equipped turntables and cassette decks that’ll connect to your computer (in fact, Ion makes some)—but if you or your gift recipient already has an old turntable or deck, this is the way to go.
