Eeeeek!

You may not have the money right now to buy a new computer to replace your sad, pokey old one (we don’t), but at least maybe you can make it feel better about itself by buying it a new handbag—er, mouse. The latest version of the SlimBlade Mouse (both Mac- and PC-compatible) from Kensington, which strolled (okay, scrolled) the runways last month at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, is the most comfortable compact mouse we’ve tested yet. It’s got laser tracking that works on all kinds of surfaces, an on-off switch to conserve battery power, and a four-way tilt scroll wheel. And in a big improvement over previous models, the price tag is not only smaller, but it’s got an even teenier USB receiver—so small you don’t have to unplug it (and lose it) to tuck your laptop into its case. It starts hitting retailers at the end of the month, but you can preorder it direct right now.
