We recently went to every nerdy computer-accessory retailer we could think of (Best Buy, Staples, Circuit City before it closed for good, etc.) looking for a new laptop cooler—one of those low-rise fan-driven stands that keeps your laptop from dying of heatstroke—because our old one died. We left empty-handed because every model we saw was just too clunky and ugly for words. Logitech obviously knows how fussy we are, because they just released the elegantly Apple-ish new Cooling Pad N100, which is now officially the chillest laptop chiller on the market. It’s USB-powered—just plug it into your Mac or PC—so there’s no bulky external power supply, and the fan is whisper quiet. Plus, it’s compact enough that you can use it not only to keep your laptop from baking your desk, but also from scorching your lap. It’s rolling out in stores (including Best Buy) in the coming weeks, but you can preorder it now directly from Logitech.
$29.99 at Logitech.
