Putting oil on your face might seem like a bad idea, but Japanese brand Shu Uemura has been doing it for years. The makeup company’s philosophy is that oil cuts oil, so greasy skin or excess makeup can vanish with a quick smear. Though their newest product—Balancing Cleansing Oil—feels a little weird going on, it really does leave skin clean and buttery, and it even removes mascara when applied gently with a tissue. Use a little dab, and you’ll be all set to get your first summer tan.
