Men's fashion met beauty with the launch of Dior Homme's Dermo System. Ignoring the PR jargon about cell protection and tissue architecture, we decided to put the skin line to the test, using a label-conscious, acne-prone guy in his mid-thirties. The Repairing Moisturizing Emulsion ($48) and Soothing Moisturizing Lotion ($40) smelled slightly medicinal, but according to our tester, "it beats most men's beauty products that go wrong by trying to be manly with overripe scents." As far as his skin? "It works for me. I actually see a noticeable, if small difference in my skin after putting it on. Pores are clearer, there's an invigorating glow, or quite possibly, I'm delusional." For the record, he's not.
$40–$48 at Dior Homme, 17 E. 57th St., nr. Fifth Ave.; 212-421-6009.
