With all the Pinot Noir we go through in our house, we’ll take any excuse to do something useful with the empties. Enter the Plant Nanny, a hollow terra-cotta stake that turns wine bottles into an ingenious plant-watering system. Simply fill an empty bottle with water and invert into place; natural absorption takes care of the rest, and the reserve lasts for up to two weeks. Added bonus: the process works just as well whether you’re using the relic of Opus One or Two Buck Chuck.
