For those of us who aren't too hung up on the four C's of a rock (clarity, cut, color, and carat size), there are Erica Weiner's Hermiker Diamond Solitaire rings. Each impressively sized stone is a unique piece of crystal quartz, filled with cracks and irregularities, and placed in a sterling-silver engagement-ring setting. Back in the nineteenth century, shady jewelers used to pass off these crystals as diamonds, but Weiner makes no such pretense. We, however, see more than a little value in warding off creepy suitors with this bauble placed appropriately on the left hand.
