Anyone who’s had to cross St. Marks Place recently has seen the "Palestinian" scarf, a black and white swath of fabric once worn by Yasser Arafat—and now sported by several hundred kids in skinny jeans. Though some may question its political correctness, we offer an alternative: these great cotton kerchiefs from Beard and Bangs. Made with organic cotton and inspired by vintage postage stamps, the scarves are gorgeous, big enough to drape inside a blazer or hoodie, and free of political strife. They're also well designed—something every faction can appreciate.
$75 at Steven Alan, 103 Franklin St., at Church St., 212-219-3305.
