The Sun Jar by Suck UK might be the closest thing we know to magic. Built with clear solar panels, the jar charges itself in the window every morning, then turns itself on when it senses darkness at night. It's water-repellent and green-friendly and looks gorgeous on a dining-room table or nightstand. We've already ordered five.
