Animals store food for the winter; Manhattan girls store coats. After all, if the season's going to be as dreary (and bitterly cold) as last year, we need every possible encouragement to go outside. Our favorite so far comes from Banana Republic (really), who’ve tailored this collarless coat so well, it’ll hide the fact that you’re bundling up. And the color is bold enough to make a statement, yet calm enough to stay within the style line—an important distinction, since the only thing worse than looking bulky is being the Crazy Coat Woman.
