The Wedding Album
Nancy Pretto and Kelvin Simmons

Centerport, New York
September 1, 2001

'I married my best friend of fifteen years. After a few months of dating we decided to tie the knot and couldn't imagine what took us so long to see what all our friends and family had seen for years. So at sunset, on the anniversary of the day we met, Kev and I were married in a waterfront garden ceremony. We had a bicultural and bilingual ceremony. There was French food, French music, and in keeping with the theme, there was even a French bustle on my wedding dress. — Nancy (The Bride)

Memorable Moment: "Our attempt to do the dance we choreographed for our first dance, for the first time with the wedding dress on. A lot of improvising went into effect."

Advice from the bride: "Despite all the planning, some things don’t go exactly as planned. But enjoy your day and try not to sweat the small stuff – at least not on your day."
