The Wedding Album
Lucy Weismann and James Veltri

| Inspired by the rich colors of India after seeing Monsoon Wedding, Lucy and James, both real-estate managers, wanted a lush and vibrant wedding. Their dream was realized at Lucy’s family home in the Hamptons, where the couple incorporated a cultural blend of both families’ backgrounds. Tables were named after different teas to celebrate her mother’s English heritage; dessert was a traditional Viennese pastry bar, recognizing her father’s Austrian ancestors. The flood of color continued with pink-and-red bridal-party outfits, matching table linens, and gold and silver shoes—all imported from India. Fruity punches like strawberry limeade and blueberry lemonade were served during the cocktail hour; party favors were Moroccan mint tea and natural honey from James’s family farm in Italy. The newlyweds did learn to be more careful about what they wish for: “During the reception, it was raining like a monsoon,” says Lucy. “But we were under the tent enjoying a night of dancing and celebration.” | |
