The Wedding Album
Samantha Marcus and David Yanks
September 20, 2003
|Samantha, a senior accessories editor at O, had been to a fabulous industry party at Splashlight Studios, a West Side photo studio with a clean, minimalist aesthetic. Her fiancé, David, an architect, fell in love with its raw, almost industrial feel. Together, they chose dramatic lighting and filled the space with square tables and écru linens topped with clusters of white calla lilies; their chuppah was suspended from the ceiling. “The chuppah was floating, and the flowers were floating, and we were floating—it was so gorgeous, it was hard to stay grounded,” says Samantha. The all-white theme complemented her bridal party; the girls wore modern black-and-white dresses and the boys were outfitted in black tuxedos. “Our party was very young and fun, so partying went on till the next morning.”||
