Go Your Own Way: Gifts

If things aren’t your thing, you might consider donating a portion of your gifts to charity, or having your guests donate to a cause in lieu of gifting. Sites like the I Do Foundation (idofoundation.org) make wedding-based philanthropy a snap. Oenophiles might want to consider a wine registry, like the one on offer at Morrell (store.morrellwine.com). Couples who dream of vacationing should consider having their guests contribute to their honeymoon—resort and hotel chains like Sandals and Starwood offer travel registries, for example, as do services such as Destination Weddings (destinationweddings.com). And those who like to think ahead might want to investigate mortgage registries, which are increasingly available from many banks. There’s no reason to settle for a salad spinner when you can make your registry the stuff of dreams.
