Prices vary (Alpine never charges a design fee).
Arthur's Invitations & Prints

If the in-house calligrapher or graphic designers can’t find what you want among the plethora of ribbons and colors types, they’ll special-order it for you and assemble it on-site. Prices range from $700 to $5,000 for a set of 100 four-piece invitations.
Bowne & Co., Stationers
211 Water St., near Fulton St.; 212-748-8651In this quaint, nineteenth-century-style print shop, the staff uses letterpresses dating as far back as 1844 to make custom stationery and invitations. Announcement cards ($250 for 50), four-piece invitations ($775 for 100), and reception cards ($175 for 100) are all printed on Crane & Co. paper.

For weddings, the style is classic, conservative, and very high-end (they only offer engraving). One hundred custom-engraved invitations, with inner and outer envelopes. Prices upon request.

Owner-designer Lisa Hoffman translates details and anecdotes of your lives and your wedding theme into an invitation that represents you ($20 to $60 per 100 invitations).

We absolutely adore her designs—whimsical, clean, and a delight for brides bored with the other design houses. Letterpress invitations start at $1,000, custom designs at $1,500.
Crane & Co. Papermakers
59 W. 49th St., at Rockefeller Plaza; 212-582-6829; crane.comThis Massachusetts-based company, which produces the paper for U.S. currency, has been making top-notch traditional cotton stationery for about 200 years. Crafty brides love Crane’s DIY blank program kits. Prices begin at about $750 for 100 engraved wedding invitations and response cards.
