Bringing the Bling

ShareThis

In the tradition of e-commerce juggernauts’ going brick-and-mortar—from Bauble Bar to Warby Parker—five-year-old online jewelry shop Charm & Chain will unveil a showroom on February 3 (611 Broadway, nr. Houston St., Ste. 816; 646-649-5808). The space mixes brands both emerging (Loren Hope’s Art Deco–inspired brass cuff with fuchsia Austrian crystals, $68) and established (a gold spike pendant by Eddie Borgo, $312). Interior designer Jeremiah Brent (whose fiancé, Nate Berkus, is an investor) added geometric-printed walls, bejeweled mannequins, and a floating divider separating the office area. Employees will pop out from behind the wall to assist shoppers, who can now personalize certain pieces—say, a pair of Bounkit double-drop earrings in lemon quartz instead of lapis—which wasn’t possible online.
